Joseph and the entire crew are the best you could possibly ask to do work for you or your buisness. They have done work at our shopping plaza in Everett two times now and the work is fast and holds up to the heavy use from our customers! When you consider a company that is reputable and honest you have to go with Economy Asphalt & Concrete LLC. Thanks Joseph!!
Josheph and his team did a great hob on two commercial parking lots, I can't recommend team highly enough. Dave
Economy Asphalt has done several projects for us. Their work is excellent, they are on-time and on-budget. The communication with them is very good and they follow through with what they say they will do. I highly recommend them.
I feel bad that I am just now posting this review! I was reminded yesterday by one of our condo owners, at a building in Snohomish where I have my business, that our experience with and results from Economy Asphalt were over the top! We had an eruption of water and clay in the middle of our back parking lot in January that Joseph and his team were able to quickly excavate, refill and repave a large area to prevent further eruptions. The building HOA will be using them again soon to complete repaving the lot. Great work and fairly priced!
As president of a cul de sac homeowner's association, the time arrived for me to gain support to seal coat and fill cracks in the development's private road. An investment of this size always brings significant scrutiny. Joseph was extremely helpful in answering my neighbors' questions and concerns prior to their approving the project. He was extremely helpful scheduling mutually acceptable time for the project. After his very professional crew completed the work, Joseph's exemplary customer service to finalize with some minor touch-up was most impressive. I give Economy Asphalt & Concrete my highest recommendation.
We just had our driveway asphalted today, Joseph gave us a great bid and they went above and beyond our expectations. They were early, took extra time to go over the work they did. They also recommended some work on the side of the driveway and took care of that in the same day. All the workers were professional and did a great job. I would highly recommend them. We will definitely be using them again in the future.
I would recommend Economy Asphalt to anyone & everyone! There service was prompt, their communication was fantastic and they went ABOVE & BEYOND what I expected. They poured a concrete floor in my garage & my barn and built a gravel driveway. I got bids from a few companies before I hired them and they were the most affordable of my quotes. I made a few last minute changes and they were able to to accommodate me with no problem. It's refreshing to find a company that is dependable, skilled and affordable. You won't be disappointed.
Joseph and his team did an excellent job replacing our asphalt driveway with concrete and paving our weed infested parking strip. They were communicative, efficient and did fantastic work. I would recommend to anyone looking for concrete and/or asphalt work.
Joseph was responsive, professional and timely. Tje quality of work was excellent. I highly recommend him.
We had our driveway redone by Economy and was extremely pleased with the result. We found few companies that did both concrete and asphalt. Of those that did, not all use rebar in concrete (which was a must for me). This was definitely an expensive project, but they not only came in at the lowest bid, but I was most pleased with their service and what they offered compared to others, so it was a no brainer!
There is a reason these guys get 5 Stars over and over. Why? A++ work and an honest fair price. Joseph ( Estimator/Co-owner) is the details guy, very professional and actually shows up when he says he will!! Wow! What a concept. Nice guy and no sales talk. Measures the yardage and gives you an actual honest price. When they come out, the crew is methodical in how they pave your driveway. So surgical. The quality of the work is top notch. Nobody is rushing or cutting any corners. The asphalt laid was THICK too. They hammered through 6 straight hours and finished the job early. It was amazing. They leave your property exactly as they found it. Worth every single penny. Really great price, (remember paving ain't cheap!) and a final product of ultra high quality. Get an estimate 2 months prior to when you want your project to be done. These guys are busy! Would recommend them to anyone all day long. Thanks Joseph and crew!!
Common Questions
Seattle’s frequent rain can complicate asphalt repair. Moisture can prevent proper bonding of repair materials and accelerate damage. Contractors often use specialized quick-drying products and may schedule repairs during drier periods. They also ensure proper drainage to prevent future water-related damage.
Common types of asphalt damage in Seattle include:
- Potholes (due to freeze-thaw cycles and heavy rain)
- Cracks (from water penetration and temperature fluctuations)
- Raveling (surface deterioration from moisture and oxidation)
- Rutting (from heavy traffic and softening of asphalt in wet conditions)
The ideal time for asphalt repairs in Seattle is during the drier months, typically from late spring to early fall (May to September). This allows for better curing of repair materials and reduces the risk of rain interfering with the repair process.
The lifespan of asphalt repairs in Seattle can vary depending on the type of repair, quality of work, and exposure to traffic and weather. Minor repairs like crack sealing may last 1-3 years, while more substantial repairs like patching can last 3-5 years or more with proper maintenance.
While it’s possible to perform emergency repairs during the rainy season, it’s not ideal. Many contractors use specialized quick-drying products for wet-weather repairs. However, for best results and longevity, it’s preferable to schedule non-emergency repairs during drier periods.
To prevent moss and algae growth:
- Ensure proper drainage to avoid standing water
- Keep the surface clean and free of organic debris
- Consider applying a sealcoat with algae-resistant additives after repairs
- Trim overhanging vegetation to reduce shade and moisture retention
Yes, Seattle’s focus on sustainability has led to more eco-friendly repair options:
- Recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) for patching
- Cold-mix asphalt repairs that require less energy to produce
- Water-based, low-VOC sealants and repair materials
- Porous asphalt options for areas needing better drainage
Consider these factors:
- Age: If the asphalt is over 20 years old, replacement might be more cost-effective
- Extent of damage: If more than 30-40% of the surface is damaged, replacement is often recommended
- Drainage issues: If there are significant drainage problems, a full reconstruction might be necessary
- Frequency of repairs: If you’re repairing the same areas repeatedly, it might be time for replacement
- It’s best to have a professional assessment, as they can consider Seattle’s specific climate challenges in their recommendation.
